Styling the Expresso presenters over the past year and a half has been nothing short of being the most amazing milestone in my career. I have fondly dubbed them “my kids” as every morning when they step into wardrobe I lay out their clothes, neatly pressed, making sure that they look and feel impeccable before I send them on their way to do what they were born to do….All the while watching them on screen, step by step, until “school’s out”. Our director once told me something that has stuck with me… He told me that essentially what we create, second by second, infiltrates each and every viewer’s lives in the most personal way. We are invited into their homes every morning when they flip that switch, and we chill with them for two and a half hours. So what ever we do…we can give nothing less than everything that we have…and that is what we all do. All of “my kids” have in their own right become stellar T.V. personalities and embody qualities that would make any “mama” proud 😉
So here’s what I’ve been up to this past season..”in living colour”. I hope you like it.
Ewan wears Blazer by Ted Baker, Vest by Goliath, Chinos by Markhams
Trend – Summer Chic
Pair chinos with a printed vest and blazer for a comfortable chic look that goes from day to night
(Favourite detail – The colour of Ewan’s blazer lining matches his chinos…it’s all about the finer touches)
Graeme wears a Cotton Linen shirt by Levis, Chinos by Markhams, Shoes by Bronx
Trend – The Colour Chino
Pair colour chinos with a muted tone on top to balance your look and be sure to roll up the hems for a fresh summer vibe.
Leigh-anne wears Coral dress by Traffic Clothing, Jewellery by Lovisa
Trend – Coral! Coral! Coral! High low hem and pleats
Coral has to be my favourite colour as it compliments every skin tone.
High low hems are a fun and flirty trend this season whether it be formal or casual…have fun with it!
Be careful of pleats though as they can make you appear to look bigger if the cut is not right for your silhouette.
Katlego wears Blazer, Striped CV shirt, tie and shorts by Markhams
Trend – The shorts suit
Try to steer clear of wearing a full suit…mix and match colours, patterns and textures to make a fashionable statement!
Tip: Wear a tie pin that matches you watch for that extra swag!
